Modu AI

Product explainer

What is Modu AI?

Modu AI is an AI desktop workspace for Modbus/AT industrial devices. It turns device information into confirmed, traceable configuration and diagnostic actions.

Modu AI is not a generic chatbot. It brings document parsing, DeviceScheme, real protocol tools, write confirmation, and TX/RX records into one workflow for serial device configuration.

The problem it solves

Industrial serial devices usually depend on register tables, function codes, AT commands, default serial settings, and parameter boundaries. The traditional workflow asks engineers to read manuals, assemble commands, check address ranges, and record low-level responses by hand. Modu AI turns that information into device capabilities that Chat and tools can use.

How it works

After a user imports device information, the system extracts protocols, registers, AT commands, defaults, and boundary conditions into a DeviceScheme. The user can then describe a goal in Chat, such as reading DI status, changing a Modbus address, or setting a LoRa channel, and AI maps the goal to real tool calls.

  • Read actions return status and low-level responses.
  • Sensitive writes such as coil writes, register writes, and AT write commands create confirmation cards first.
  • After execution, tool calls, low-level commands, TX/RX frames, and traces remain inspectable.

Who it is for

It is built for engineers, product support teams, and small-batch integration teams that configure, diagnose, or verify serial gateways, IO modules, LoRa modules, DTU/RTU devices, and similar industrial edge hardware.

Frequently asked questions

Is Modu AI a PLC programming tool?

No. It does not replace a PLC development environment. It focuses on serial device configuration, diagnostics, and controlled execution, especially for Modbus RTU and AT-command devices.

Does Modu AI require an internet connection?

The default anonymous cloud AI and PDF or image parsing use Modu cloud services. Local documents, sessions, and serial-frame records are stored in local app data.

Why does write confirmation matter?

Wrong device addresses, baud rates, register values, or LoRa parameters can make hardware unreachable or behave incorrectly. Confirmation cards make sensitive writes visible, pausable, and traceable before execution.
